Federal Polytechnic Ohodo Sets New Students on Path to Excellence with Comprehensive Orientation

The Federal Polytechnic Ohodo, Enugu State, has successfully conducted its 2026 orientation programme, providing a strategic roadmap for newly admitted students as they begin their vocational and academic journeys.

The event, held on March 24, 2026, at the institution’s takeoff campus, served as a formal induction into the polytechnic’s culture of discipline, innovation, and technical proficiency.

In his keynote address, the Rector, Dr. Ediri Emmanuel Agada, congratulated the freshers and emphasized that the orientation was foundational to their personal development. He urged students to remain security-conscious and maintain high ethical standards. Notably, Dr. Agada highlighted an ongoing scholarship initiative specifically designed to support students enrolling in the institution's newly introduced academic programmes.

Deputy Rector Dr. Cornelius Ogayi reminded students that diplomas are awarded based on both "character and learning," urging them to utilize the polytechnic’s growing academic resources.

A major highlight was the formal swearing-in of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) caretaker executives. Led by President Nnadi Charles Ifeanyi, the new student leadership pledged to maintain constructive engagement with management.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Anthony Ogbuene, further encouraged students to explore the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to alleviate financial pressures, while the Director of SIWES, Dr. Akujiobi Chiedoziem, briefed the National Diploma students on the mandatory requirements for industrial training.

The orientation concluded with a vote of thanks from the SUG Secretary General, Onuh Patrick Chidera, marking the official integration of the new cohort into the Federal Polytechnic Ohodo community.
