Federal Polytechnic Oko Strengthens Strategic Ties with Anambra State Government to Drive Skill Development
Chairman, Governing Council Federal Polytechnic Oko, Senator Engr. Dr. Barnabas Gemade OFR along with the Rector of the Institution, Dr.Chioma Irene Awuzie have paid a courtesy call on His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State, with the aim of deepening institutional collaboration and partnership for mutual benefit.
While making his remarks during the visit, the Council Chairman stated that the visit was aimed at strengthening relationship between the Polytechnic and the State especially with the emergence of a substantive Rector in the persom of Dr.Chioma Irene Awuzie. He revealed that the institution seeks greater co-operation with the state government and hinted of critical areas that could drive partnership.
He appreciated Governor Soludo for his giant strides in the state including the ongoing road construction at Oko community and urged him to continue with the good works he is doing.
Earlier, the Rector, Dr.Chioma Irene Awuzie congratulated the Governor on his second tenure in office, assuring him of support. She appreciated the governor for his good works in the state and called for a more robust partnership with the state government.

The Secretary to the State Government Mrs Chiamaka Nnake while making an overview, remarked that enhanced partnership between the state and the polytechnic will open up great opportunities that are waiting to be harnessed for the good people of Anambra State. She stated that the state government looks forward to partnering with the polytechnic, expressing hope that the visit will forge institutional collaboration for value addition.
The Governor, His Excellency Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr.Onyekachukwu Ibezim who welcomed the council Chairman and the Rector to the government house.He acknowledged that Federal Polytechnic Oko is a renown institution that has produced great personalities who are doing well in different sectors of the economy.
He stressed on the importance of polytechnic education to national development and commended the management of Federal Polytechnic Oko for upholding the ideals and vision behind the establishment of the Polytechnic .
He hinted at the impact of the One Youth 2 skills scheme of the state government and stressed that Federal Polytechnic Oko and the state government can collaborate in this area of skill development for the well-being of the youths. The Deputy Governor reiterated that the vision of the government is to make Anambra State a place to live, work , invest, relax and enjoy. He further buttressed that the Governor is developing all the sectors of the economy simultaneously.
Present at the visit include Prof.Frank Collins Okafor, Chief of Protocol to the Governor, Permanent Secretary office of the Deputy Governor, Engr Dr. Florence Idigo Ibenta. Permanent Secretary, office of the Secretary to State Government, Dr.Nwabufo Nwankwo among others.
