Federal Polytechnic Wannune Academic Board Holds Emergency Meeting, Resolves Key Issues

The Federal Polytechnic Wannune held its emergency Academic Board meeting on 2nd October, 2026, where it exhaustively deliberated on pending and emerging issues of serious concern to the growth and development of the institution.

Presiding over the meeting, the Rector, Dr. Ashinya Tyover, in a solemn declaration, reiterated the firm stance of the Management against indiscipline and nonchalant attitude to work, stating that his administration’s commitment to quality standards cannot be compromised.

For the records and immediate implementation, the Board deliberated and resolved as follows:

1. Standard of Students' Performance Evaluation: The Board upheld the firm and fair subsisting modes of evaluating students' academic performance, noting that the quality of graduates and their market value have a lot to do with quality teaching and learning, both of which reflect in the final assessment of students' performance and the institution's rating.

2. Gross Examination Misconduct: The Board deliberated on a report from the Examinations Misconduct Committee involving a case of physical assault on a lecturer on invigilation duty, Mr. Soom Philip Iorver of the GNS Department, by an ND I student of the SLT Department, who was caught with a prohibited electronic gadget in the examination hall on 29th September, 2026.

Upholding the investigative findings and final recommendations of the Examination Ethics Committee, the Board firmly resolved that the affected student violated relevant sections of the students' handbook and has set a peculiar negative example, and was therefore expelled from the institution.
