Federal University Lokoja Disowns Fake Online Recruitment Form, Warns Public Against Fraud

The Management of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has disowned a fraudulent Google Form being circulated online in connection with a purported employment exercise, warning members of the public against falling victim to the scheme.

In a public disclaimer issued on October 30, 2026, the University stated that it had no knowledge of, affiliation with, authorisation for or arrangement concerning the employment form.

It emphasised that the purported recruitment exercise had not been sanctioned, endorsed or commissioned by the institution and advised members of the public to disregard the form.

The University identified the use of a personal Gmail account as the communication or contact address for the exercise as a major indication of its fraudulent nature. It clarified that official institutional activities of this nature are not conducted through personal Gmail accounts, which should not be mistaken for authorised University communication channels.

FUL explained that it operates established and verifiable official communication channels for its administrative, academic, recruitment, admission and other institutional activities. It added that all official exercises are communicated through authorised institutional channels and can be verified through the relevant University authorities.

Consequently, the University advised members of the public to take the following precautions:

1. Disregard the circulated Google Form for employment and refrain from participating in the purported exercise.
2. Do not submit personal information, academic credentials, financial details or other sensitive data through the form.
3. Do not make any payment or financial commitment in response to requests associated with the purported exercise.
4. Avoid circulating the link further to prevent exposing unsuspecting members of the public to possible fraud.
5. Verify any information purportedly emanating from the University through its official website, communication channels, the Registrar's Office or the Directorate of Strategic Communication and Corporate Documentation.

The Management reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the University's institutional integrity, safeguarding the interests of its stakeholders and preventing individuals or groups from exploiting the institution's name and reputation for fraudulent purposes.

It further urged the public to remain vigilant and disregard unauthorised communications or online solicitations falsely presented as official activities of the University.
