Federal University of Education Zaria Committee on Placement of Non-Teaching Staff Submits Report to Management

The Committee on Placement of Non-Teaching Staff of the Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria submitted its report to the University Management on Thursday 9th July.

The Committee, chaired by Mal. Aliyu Abdullahi Galadima, submitted the report to the Management after completing its assignment on the placement of non-teaching staff of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, received the report on behalf of the Management.

Submitting the report, Mal. Galadima said the Committee was constituted by the Management on 25 March 2025 to consider and recommend appropriate cadres and placement of non-teaching staff in line with the Schemes of Service, extant rules and circulars.

He said the Committee interfaced with relevant institutions, including Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and reviewed existing practices to guide its recommendations.

Galadima disclosed that the Committee held five meetings in carrying out its assignment and considered 1,445 cases involving non-teaching staff across their relevant departments and units of the University.

He said the Committee made recommendations on the nomenclature and career progression of some non-teaching cadres as well as measures aimed at aligning the University's placement structure with the Schemes of Service and established practices in the Nigerian university system.

Receiving the report, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, commended the Committee for the diligence and commitment demonstrated in carrying out its assignment.

Prof. Bunkure said the recommendations contained in the report would be carefully studied by the University Management with a view to ensuring that staff placement is in line with the University's Schemes of Service and established best practices.

The Vice-Chancellor appreciated members of the Committee for completing the assignment and submitting the report within the stipulated period.

The Ag. Registrar, Mal. Shehu Iya Sa'idu, the Ag Bursar, Alh. Muhammad Kabir Aliyu, Ag. Librarian, Mal. Tijjani Ahmed Abdul and other principal officers of the university was present at the meeting
