Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences Ekiti Seeks Admission Extension from JAMB

The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES) in Iyin-Ekiti is seeking a two-week extension from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to finalize its admission process for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The university has a quota of 1,500 candidates but has only processed admissions for 1,200 candidates so far .

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, explained that the institution is under pressure from qualified admission seekers still flocking to the university, and the extension would enable FUTES to accommodate more students. He expressed optimism that academic activities would begin in December, pending the completion of staff recruitment and facility preparations .

JAMB had set a deadline of October 31, 2025, for public institutions to finalize their admission processes, while private universities were required to complete admissions by November 30, 2025. The extension request is aimed at ensuring a smooth start to the academic session and providing opportunities for more students to join the university community .
