Federal University of Technology Minna to Host Inaugural Niger State Inter-Collegiate Games
The Students' Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), has announced the organization of the first-ever Niger State Inter-Collegiate Games.
This historic event aims to bring together tertiary institutions across the state for a week-long celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and athletic excellence.
The games are scheduled to run from February 8th to 14th, 2026.
Event Schedule and Venues
The competition will utilize multiple sporting facilities across Minna to host various events:
Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna: Badminton, Table Tennis, and Combat Games
FUTMINNA and 123 Indoor Sports Complex: Basketball
Minna Sports Club: Squash
FUTMINNA: Volleyball
College of Education Minna: Tennis
123 Field: Athletics Events
FUTMINNA G.K & Mohammed Umaru Bago Field: Football
The competition is open to all bona fide students of participating tertiary institutions within Niger State. This includes students enrolled in Pre-Degree, Diploma Certificate, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate programs.
The SUG Director of Sports, Comr. Siraj Sultan, emphasized that cooperation and dedication are essential for the success of this inaugural edition.
The announcement was made via a press release on Friday, December 2, 2026, signed by the Public Relations Officer, Comr. Muhammad Nurudeen Liman (DE-PROF), the Secretary General, Comr. Arowosegbe Daniel Precious (OLUWADANIEL), and for the Executive President, Comr. Sen Adaidu Ezekiel Machofo (CALCULUS).
