Federal University Wukari Bans Student Sign-Out Activities with Immediate Effect Over Safety Concerns

The Federal University Wukari (FUW) has approved a total and comprehensive ban on all student sign-out activities on campus and its environs, effective immediately.

According to a circular dated June 24, 2026, from the Academic Affairs Division, Office of the Registrar, the decision was taken by the University Senate at its 76th regular meeting held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026

The circular directed security personnel to enforce the directives strictly and report any violation immediately. It noted that while the Senate remains committed to the welfare and safety of all students, University rules and regulations must be adhered to in order to avoid unpleasant consequences.

The measure comes in view of prevailing circumstances associated with students’ sign-out celebrations that have raised safety and congestion concerns within FUW and its immediate environs.
