FUE Zaria Begins Two-Day ICT Platforms Training for Staff, Students
The Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria, has commenced a two-day workshop on ICT Platforms Training for Staff and Students as part of efforts to strengthen digital capacity and enhance ICT proficiency within the university community.
The training, holding at the University's ICT Centre from 18th–19th May, 2026, is organised under the TETFund 2025 ICT Intervention Programme, facilitated by Spider Technologies Limited and hosted by the University's ICT Directorate.
Speaking during the opening session, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, congratulated participants on being selected for the programme and described the initiative as an important component of the ICT intervention package, which prioritises the training and development of both staff and students.

Prof. Bunkure noted that about 100 staff and 100 students were selected for the programme, adding that the workshop was designed to improve participants' knowledge and understanding of Information and Communication Technology and equip them with relevant digital skills.
He urged participants to pay close attention throughout the sessions and actively engage in all activities to maximise the benefits of the training and gain valuable experience.
Speaking earlier, the Director of ICT, Dr. Ayotunde Fadele, said the training was designed to expose participants to relevant ICT platforms and practical digital tools, adding that the hands-on sessions would help strengthen their capacity for academic and professional tasks.
The workshop is expected to provide participants with practical exposure to various ICT platforms and tools aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, and digital competence across the university community.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Suleiman Balarabe; Ag. Registrar, Alh. Shehu Iya Sa'idu; Ag. Bursar, Alh. Muhammad Kabir Aliyu; Ag. Librarian, Mal. Abdul Tijjani; Ag. Director of Procurement, Mal. Abdullahi Maiwada; Ag. Director of Security Affairs, Mal. Halilu D. Hassan; and the Chief Security Officer, SP Bello Haruna.
