Federal University Gashua Mourns Loss of 200-Level Geography Student, Muhammad Idris Danga

 The student community of the Federal University Gashua (FUGA) has been thrown into mourning following the sudden passing of Muhammad Idris Danga, a 200-level student in the Department of Geography.

The sad news, which filtered across the campus community on Monday, 18th May 2026, has left fellow students, faculty members, and friends in deep sorrow.

In an official statement released by the student body representatives, the campus community extended its deepest condolences to the staff and students of the Geography Department, as well as the close associates of the deceased. The statement described the untimely demise of the young scholar as a profound and painful loss to the entire institution. 

"On behalf of fellow students, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Geography Department, his friends, and especially his family during this painful time," the release stated. Worshippers and colleagues within the university have also offered prayers, asking the Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest, and provide his family with the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Department of Geography has expressed shock over the development. Faculty members described Danga as a promising young student who was well on his way to completing his undergraduate journey.

Funeral arrangements and official campus memorial details are expected to be announced by the family and university authorities in due course.
