FUHSO Staff Cooperative Society Holds Second Annual General Meeting

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society (FUHSO-SMCS) has held its 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together members to review the activities and progress of the cooperative society.

The meeting was held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Lecture Hall A, Multipurpose Building, Take-off Campus, Otada, Otukpo.

The programme commenced with the registration of members and introduction of invited guests by the Chairman, Central Planning Committee (CPC), followed by an opening prayer and welcome address.

Speaking at the event, the President of FUHSO-SMCS, Dr. Peter Adikwu, expressed sincere appreciation to members for their loyalty, cooperation, trust and steadfast commitment to the growth and development of the cooperative society.

Dr. Adikwu also appreciated the Management of FUHSO for providing an enabling environment for the society to operate. He recognised the invaluable contributions of the Board of Trustees (BOT), led by Prof. Sylvanus Edache Okpe.

The Vice-Chancellor of FUHSO, Prof. Francis Aba Uba, in his address, commended the leadership and members of FUHSO-SMCS for successfully completing another year of business activities.

Represented by the Registrar, Mr. Michael Ogiji, the Vice-Chancellor urged members to be good ambassadors of both the University and the cooperative society.

He emphasised the importance of promoting unity and common interests rather than divisive tendencies.

Prof. Uba assured the cooperative society of the University’s continued support and commitment to creating an enabling environment for its growth and sustainability.

The Vice-Chancellor further urged members to see the University and the Cooperative Society as complementary institutions whose success is mutually beneficial.

He stressed that both institutions must continue to work together for the overall development of the University community.
