FUKashere Governing Council Appoints New Principal Officers

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Kashere (FUK), Gombe State, has approved the appointment of key principal officers to strengthen the University’s administrative leadership. The decision was taken at the Council’s 10th Special Meeting held on Monday, 2nd February 2026.

New Appointments:

• Dr. Tukur Abba – University Librarian
  Dr. Abba, an Associate Professor from Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, previously served as University Librarian at MAU from 2018 to 2023. He holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD, and is a registered member of the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).

• Engr. Abdullahi Adamu Mohammed – Director of Works and Maintenance Services
  Engr. Mohammed, formerly Acting Director, holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Bayero University, Kano, and is a registered member of COREN, NSE, and NIMechE.

• Tpl. Muhammad Imam Yunusa – Director of Physical Planning
  Tpl. Yunusa holds a B.Tech in Urban and Regional Planning from ATBU, Bauchi. He joined FUKashere in 2011, rising to the rank of Deputy Director in 2022 before his current appointment.

The Chairman of Council, Prof. Williams O. Aderounmu, congratulated the appointees and urged them to leverage their experience and expertise to drive the growth and development of the University.

All appointments are effective immediately.
