FULafia VC Prof. Kida Strengthens Ties with SSANU Leadership
Building on a week of intensive stakeholder engagement, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, hosted the executive members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), FULafia Branch, on Monday, February 16, 2026.
The meeting, held at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, followed a similar consultative session with the academic union (ASUU), underscoring Prof. Kida’s commitment to an inclusive and harmonious administrative style.
The SSANU delegation was led by its Chairman, Comr. Daniel Dajen, who engaged the university management on critical issues affecting the senior non-teaching staff. The discussions focused on:
Administrative Efficiency: Enhancing the synergy between the university's administrative arm and the central management.
Staff Welfare: Addressing the unique needs and professional growth of senior staff members.
Campus Stability: Reaffirming the union's support for the Vice-Chancellor’s vision to maintain a strike-free and productive academic environment.
Prof. Kida commended the SSANU leadership for their maturity and dedication to the university's progress. He reiterated that the "backbone of any institution is its workforce," promising to maintain an open line of communication to resolve grievances before they escalate.
Comr. Dajen expressed the union's appreciation for the audience, noting that such high-level interactions are essential for building trust and ensuring that the university continues to thrive as a premier centre of learning.
