FUNAAB Selected as Mentoring University for Newly Licensed ADUA

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been selected as the mentoring university for the newly licensed Abdulfattah Durojaiye University, Abeokuta (ADUA), by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The announcement was made on August 6, 2026, during a courtesy visit by the Founder and Proprietor of ADUA, Dr. Abdulfattah Durojaiye, an alumnus and member of the FUNAAB Alumni Association (USA Branch), alongside the Global President of the FUNAAB Alumni Association, Otunba Bolaji Gbadamosi, and other executives of the Alumni body.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Durojaiye described FUNAAB’s selection as ADUA’s mentoring university as “a dream come true,” noting that he had always desired a partnership with his alma mater.

He disclosed that ADUA had received approval to commence academic activities with three faculties, eight departments and 13 academic programmes across Applied Sciences, Computing, and Management and Social Sciences.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, Professor Babatunde Kehinde, commended the FUNAAB Alumni Association, particularly its USA Branch, for its continued support through scholarships, tuition assistance and feeding programmes for indigent students.

Professor Kehinde congratulated Dr. Durojaiye on the establishment of ADUA and assured the institution of FUNAAB’s full commitment to providing academic guidance and institutional support for a successful take-off.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that FUNAAB had previously served as the mentoring university for institutions including Chrisland University and New City University, expressing confidence that ADUA would also develop into a globally recognised institution.

Earlier, Otunba Gbadamosi congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on FUNAAB’s recognition as ADUA’s mentoring institution, stating that the partnership would strengthen collaboration between both universities while promoting quality higher education in Nigeria.

The visit further reinforced FUNAAB’s strategic role in advancing excellence in higher education through mentorship, institutional collaboration and alumni-driven partnerships.
