The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Sunday Saanu as its new Director of Public Relations. 

Dr. Saanu, a highly regarded figure in the Nigerian higher education communication sector, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He is most notably recognized for his extensive tenure at the University of Ibadan (UI), where he served as a media assistant to four successive Vice-Chancellors. He also contributed his expertise to the corporate communications department of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU). 

Dr. Saanu’s credentials reflect a deep mastery of the media landscape:

Education: He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Language Arts, a Master of Communication Arts, an MA, and a PhD in Cultural and Media Studies, all from the University of Ibadan.

Professional Affiliation: He is a distinguished member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Journalism Background: Beyond academia, he is a seasoned journalist and a prolific writer, known for his insightful commentaries on university administration and public affairs.

The appointment is viewed by university stakeholders as a strategic move to bolster FUOYE’s corporate image and streamline its internal and external communication strategies. Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Abayomi Fasina, the university has seen rapid expansion, and Dr. Saanu’s expertise is expected to provide the professional "bridge" needed between the institution and its diverse publics. 

His arrival marks a new chapter for the Directorate of Corporate Services, focusing on transparency, proactive media engagement, and the enhancement of the university's global brand.
