FUTA Alumnus, Adewale Ejalonibu, Wins Fully Funded Scholarship at Auburn University, USA

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is celebrating another milestone achievement by one of its distinguished alumni, Adewale Ejalonibu, who has secured a fully funded scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University, USA.

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is celebrating another milestone achievement by one of its distinguished alumni, Adewale Ejalonibu, who has secured a fully funded scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University, USA.

Adewale, who graduated with First-Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering from FUTA, will also serve as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant during his program. He expressed excitement about the opportunity, describing it as the realization of a lifelong vision.

“A journey I have always envisioned since I was young has taken another step forward. From my early days at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) where curiosity and perseverance shaped me through workshops, labs, and mentors who inspired me, I have always dreamed of pushing the boundaries of mechanical engineering and using research to solve real-world problems. I am excited to share that I recently started my MSc in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University, where I will be working in the Care Lab under Dr. Brendon Allen while serving as both a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) and Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) at Auburn’s Dynamics Lab.”

Ejalonibu acknowledged the collective role of his family, mentors, and supporters in his success. He specially appreciated his recommenders—Professor Ogedengbe, Professor Adeyeri, and Engr. Osasona—for their belief in him. He also expressed gratitude to the Michael Taiwo Scholarships (MT Scholar, 2024) and EduOpportunity Network (Awardee) for their transformative support, as well as his Auburn University Mechanical Engineering Cohort 2025 for warmly welcoming him.

“This achievement is not mine alone. The road here has been filled with hard work, resilience, and faith. I look forward to growing through research, teaching, and collaboration, while striving to contribute solutions that matter. This is only the beginning,” he added.
