FUTA Professor Ranks No. 1 in Facilities and Workplace Management in ResearchGate Scholarly Index

Professor Ayodeji Emmanuel Oke of the Department of Quantity Surveying at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Nigeria, has been ranked first in Facilities and Workplace Management among the Top 1,000 Scholars by the ResearchGate Scholarly Index, based on research impact between 2021 and 2025.

Professor Ayodeji Emmanuel Oke of the Department of Quantity Surveying at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Nigeria, has been ranked first in Facilities and Workplace Management among the Top 1,000 Scholars by the ResearchGate Scholarly Index, based on research impact between 2021 and 2025.

Oke, a Professor of Sustainable and Digital Built Environment, also ranked fourth in Construction Project Management and Performance, seventh in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Construction Integration, and 10th in both Sustainable Building Design and Assessment and Value Engineering and Management.

The professor has several years of teaching and research experience in higher institutions across different countries. He obtained his first degree with First Class Honours before completing his master's and doctoral degrees in Quantity Surveying.

He founded the Research Group on Sustainable Infrastructure Management Plus (RG-SIM+) and currently serves as its team lead. His research interests include sustainable development, digital infrastructure and construction innovations.

Oke received the Best Researcher Award at FUTA's 2025 and 2023 Excellence and Productivity Awards ceremonies, following his recognition as the institution's best lecturer in 2021.

His international academic experience includes serving as a visiting scholar at Heriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom, a research fellow at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, an academic fellow at Universiti Sains Malaysia and an honorary professor at Durban University in South Africa. He has also participated in European Union-funded academic mobility exchange programmes.

Beyond academia, Oke serves as a Peace Ambassador for the International Association of World Peace Advocates, promoting world peace and sustainable development.

With more than 500 publications, including 14 authored books and four edited volumes, he has also been listed in Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists ranking since 2023.

His latest ResearchGate Scholarly Index rankings add to his record of research output and contributions to sustainable infrastructure, construction management and digital innovation in the built environment.
