FUTMINNA Students' Union Imposes 1:00 A.M to 6:00 A.M Movement Restriction Over Security Concerns

The Federal University of Technology Minna, FUTMINNA, Students’ Union has announced an immediate restriction on student movement between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. within the university community as part of measures to strengthen security.  

In a press release issued by the Office of the Public Relations Officer on Monday, the Union stated that security personnel have been deployed across the community to enforce the directive for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.  

According to the notice, all students are advised to return to their respective lodges before 1:00 A.M. and avoid unnecessary movement during the restriction period.

The Union further warned that any student found outside after 1:00 A.M. without an ID card will be at their own risk and may be taken into police custody by security agencies.

“We urge all students to remain vigilant, cooperate with the police and other security personnel, and stay united as we work together to improve the safety of our community,” the statement read.

The release was signed by the President, Comr. Sen. Adaidu Ezekiel Machofo; Secretary General, Comr. Arowosegbe Daniel Precious; and Public Relations Officer, Comr. Nurudeen Muhammad Liman.  

The Union concluded by emphasizing that “Your safety is our collective responsibility.
