A tense incident recently unfolded at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), where an architecture lecturer allegedly destroyed a student’s project, claiming the student couldn’t have created it on his own. 

Footage from the confrontation has gone viral, sparking outrage and debate online. In the circulating video, the student stands beside his lecturer, who uses a stick to smash parts of his architectural model.

The student explained that the lecturer accused him of submitting work beyond his ability, adding that it was the third time in one semester his project had been destroyed over similar claims.

“My lecturer didn’t believe I did my work. This is the third time this semester they’ve destroyed my project,” he wrote.
