Gombe State University has recorded a major academic milestone after securing full accreditation status for several of its programmes following the October/November 2025 accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Gombe State University has recorded a major academic milestone after securing full accreditation status for several of its programmes following the October/November 2025 accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The development was confirmed in an official communication signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu.

According to the report, the university received full accreditation for programmes across multiple faculties, reinforcing its growing academic standing and compliance with national quality assurance standards.

The accredited programmes include the M.Sc. Banking and Finance under the Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences; Physiology under the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences; and Physics and Biochemistry under the Faculty of Science.

Also accredited are several education programmes, including Biology Education, Chemistry Education, Geography Education, Mathematics Education, and Physics Education under the Faculty of Education.

A key highlight of the exercise is the full accreditation granted to the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme under the Faculty of Law, a development expected to strengthen the institution’s legal education capacity and graduate output.

The accreditation outcome reflects the university’s continued efforts to improve academic quality, strengthen curriculum delivery, and meet regulatory benchmarks set by the NUC.

Gombe State University described the development as a validation of its sustained investment in academic standards, faculty development, and institutional growth aimed at producing graduates who meet national and global expectations.
