In a stunning and historic victory, Benson Idahosa University (BIU) has been crowned the overall winner of the 27th Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) Games, hosted by University of Jos, shattering a long-standing precedent to become the first private university ever to claim the coveted championship title.

The university’s athletes delivered a dominant performance throughout the multi-sport event, amassing a formidable medal haul that left their competitors from larger, government-funded institutions in their wake.
