The Ibesikpo Asutan Council of Gospel Ministers (IBACOM) has paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Ritman University, Professor Akan Williams, as part of efforts to strengthen engagement between the university and faith-based organisations.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of IBACOM, Rev. Isang Eyoumoh, and comprised Archbishop Effiong Ekoi, Bishop Mike Eduok, and the Secretary of the Council, Bishop Ekere George.
The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to formally introduce IBACOM to the Vice-Chancellor and outline the council’s vision of promoting Christian unity, mutual fellowship, peaceful coexistence, moral responsibility and community development.
Receiving the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Akan Williams, expressed appreciation for the visit and the confidence placed in Ritman University as an institution with an important role to play in the educational and socio-economic development of the nation.

The engagement is in line with Ritman University’s broader commitment to building productive relationships with relevant stakeholders and contributing meaningfully to the development of its host community.
As an institution committed to the principle of “Knowledge for Development,” Ritman University recognises that meaningful education extends beyond the classroom. Through constructive engagement with community leaders, professional bodies, faith-based organisations and other stakeholders, the university seeks to foster an environment where knowledge, values, leadership and community development can advance together.
The visit by the IBACOM delegation therefore provided more than an opportunity for a formal courtesy call. It created an avenue for dialogue and stronger community relations that could support shared aspirations for peaceful coexistence, responsible leadership and sustainable development.
