Lead City University to Celebrate 2026 International Open Access Week

Lead City University has announced plans to celebrate the 2026 International Open Access Week under the theme, “The Cost of Knowledge.”

The event will examine the question: “Can knowledge truly be open when publishing remains unaffordable for many African researchers?”

The celebration will provide a platform for discussions on equitable access, visibility and inclusion in global scholarly publishing, with a focus on addressing the financial barriers that limit African researchers’ participation in academic publishing.
