Islamic Development Bank’s Ex-VP, Dr Mansur Mukhtar, to Speak at ABU Economics Conference
Scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the conference, titled "Navigating Economic Resilience in Nigeria: Strategies for Growth and Stability," will convene prominent economists at the CBN Centre for Economics and Finance on the ABU campus.
Dr Mansur Mukhtar, former Vice President of the Islamic Development Bank and Chairman of the Board for the Bank of Industry (BOI), will deliver a lead paper at the 3rd International Conference organized by the Department of Economics at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. Scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the conference, titled "Navigating Economic Resilience in Nigeria: Strategies for Growth and Stability," will convene prominent economists at the CBN Centre for Economics and Finance on the ABU campus.
According to Prof M.C. Duru, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, the event will feature keynote lectures by Prof Adeola Adenikinju, President of the Nigerian Economic Society, and Prof Abdul-Ganiyu Ajani Garba, Coordinator of the Centre for Growth and Development, Ibadan. Both Adenikinju and Garba are former members of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Monetary Policy Committee.
Dr Baba Yusuf Musa, Director-General of the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management, will also present a lead paper. Prof Mike Kwanashie, former Vice-Chancellor of Veritas University, will chair the occasion, with Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, serving as the royal father of the day.
The conference will be officially opened by ABU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kabiru Bala, with Prof Dahiru Suleiman, Head of the Department of Economics, as host.
