JAMB Schedules June 13 for 2026 UTME Mop-Up Examination

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced Saturday, June 13, 2026, as the official date for the conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise.

The announcement was made on Monday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, who explained that the mop-up examination is specifically designed for candidates who were unable to sit for the main UTME conducted between April 16 and 23, 2026.

According to the board, the affected candidates include those who experienced technical glitches, biometric verification problems, and other examination-related issues despite successfully presenting themselves for the exercise.

In the statement, JAMB described the mop-up examination as the final phase of the 2026 UTME process, aimed at ensuring that all genuine candidates who encountered challenges are given a fair opportunity to complete the examination.

“The mop-up examination represents the final phase of the annual UTME exercise and serves as an opportunity to address all outstanding examination challenges involving candidates who duly presented themselves but encountered difficulties in taking the examination,” the board stated.

JAMB also advised all eligible candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from June 6, 2026. Candidates are encouraged to carefully check their examination centres and make adequate preparations ahead of the scheduled date.

The board stressed that the June 13 mop-up exercise would be the final opportunity for affected candidates to participate in the 2026 UTME, warning that no additional examination window would be created afterward.

“Affected candidates are hereby urged to print their Examination Notification Slips, familiarise themselves with their examination centres, and make all necessary arrangements ahead of the examination date, as there will be no further opportunity for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after this mop-up exercise,” the statement added.

The announcement is expected to bring relief to thousands of candidates who were unable to complete the examination due to circumstances beyond their control. With the mop-up date now confirmed, affected candidates are advised to stay updated through official JAMB communication channels and prepare adequately for the exercise.
