Kaduna College of Education Lecturers Suspend Strike Action

The Academic Staff Union of Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya chapter, has suspended its three-week-old strike action.

The strike, which was called to protest the non-implementation of an improved salary structure, has been put on hold following interventions by the state government.

According to reports, Governor Uba Sani has approved key demands of the Joint Union of Tertiary Institutions of Kaduna State (JUTIKS), including the implementation of the CONPCASS/CONTEDISS salary structure and the inclusion of non-teaching staff in the 65-year retirement age policy.

The suspension of the strike is expected to restore academic activities in the institution, providing relief to students and staff alike.
