Kano State Polytechnic, under the leadership of the Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, has hosted a five-day Awareness, Sensitisation and Capacity Development Programme on TETFund ICT projects aimed at enhancing the digital skills and capacity of staff and students.
The programme, held from Monday, September 28 to Saturday, October 3, 2026, was organised under the TETFund ICT Support Intervention 2025 and facilitated by AWS Global Tech Limited.
The training focused on TERAS and other TETFund-supported digital platforms and learning tools, including Blackboard, the Learning Management System (LMS), International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL), EBSCOhost and Eagle Scan. The resources are designed to support teaching, learning, administration and research.
Participants included heads of departments, examination officers, ICT personnel, bursary and administrative staff, as well as students from various schools, departments and centres of the Polytechnic.
The programme was designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills in e-teaching and e-learning, e-governance, digital strategy and the effective use of ICT infrastructure, in line with TETFund's commitment to advancing digital transformation across tertiary institutions.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the AWS Global Tech representative, Mr. Anas Sa'ad, said the programme provided an important platform for staff and students to acquire the knowledge and practical skills required to make effective use of TETFund's ICT platforms and digital tools.
He emphasised the importance of building the capacity of the Polytechnic community to maximise the benefits of TETFund's ICT interventions and foster a more efficient, technology-driven academic and administrative environment.
Throughout the training, participants engaged in interactive presentations, practical demonstrations, group discussions and hands-on sessions. The activities focused on the use of digital platforms and resources in teaching and learning, examination administration, research, information management, governance and institutional operations.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to the effective deployment and use of TETFund ICT projects across Kano State Polytechnic. Participants were encouraged to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to improve service delivery, teaching and learning, and administrative efficiency.
The Polytechnic management expressed appreciation to TETFund for its continued support through its ICT interventions and to AWS Global Tech Limited for facilitating the programme.
