The Kwara State University (KWASU) is making significant progress in the construction of its Osi and Ilesa-Baruba campuses, with completion in sight, according to the institution's Governing Council.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, OON, described the ongoing work as "encouraging" after leading an inspection of the sites on Wednesday, August 14, and Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Professor Ambali expressed the university's commitment to beginning academic activities at the two campuses in the upcoming academic year. He emphasized that the Kwara State Government is highly invested in the completion of these projects, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure they meet the set targets.

To maintain momentum, the university will initiate weekly monitoring of the projects to guarantee timely delivery. The Vice-Chancellor of KWASU, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, highlighted the dedication of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to making the campuses operational, which led to the re-awarding of the construction contracts to a new company.

The lead consultant, Architect Mohammed Jimoh Faworaja, confirmed that the projects are on track for completion by the end of September. He noted that key infrastructure, including classrooms, lecture halls, offices, water reticulation, public power connections, and road networks, are in advanced stages of construction, making the target date feasible.
