KWASU VC Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh Conducts Unscheduled Facility Inspection at Osi Campus
In a proactive move to ensure academic and administrative standards, the Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, conducted an unscheduled inspection of the institution's Osi Campus on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
The visit was aimed at assessing the operational efficiency of the campus, which officially serves as the seat of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Professor Jimoh’s inspection follows the campus's commissioning by the Kwara State Government in early 2025, a move designed to decentralise learning and boost regional development.
During the assessment, the Vice-Chancellor performed a comprehensive walkthrough of the campus infrastructure, focusing on several critical areas:
Infrastructure and Learning Resources: Direct evaluation of state-of-the-art studios, lecture halls, and laboratories to verify their readiness for the current academic session.
Expansion of Academic Programmes: The Vice-Chancellor noted the successful take-off of programmes including Fine and Applied Arts, Urban and Regional Planning, Geography and Remote Sensing, and Estate Management, which have already received National Universities Commission (NUC) approval.
Operational Standards: Engaging directly with staff and students on-site, Professor Jimoh emphasized that maintaining high-quality service delivery is a core priority of his administration.
Professor Jimoh reiterated that the management of KWASU is committed to ensuring that all three of its campuses—Malete, Osi, and Ilesha-Baruba—maintain a uniform standard of excellence. He expressed satisfaction with the progress at Osi, describing it as a "breeding ground for world-class professionals" whose expertise will contribute significantly to Kwara State and Nigeria.
This visit underscores the university's ongoing efforts to transition into a "Green University" focused on community development and entrepreneurship, as championed by the Kwara State Government
