Lagos State University Announces Admission into 2026 Sandwich Degree Programmes

The programmes, offered by the Faculty of Education, are available for suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into four-year and five-year Bachelor’s degree programmes leading to the award of B.Sc. (Ed.), B.A. (Ed.) and B.Ed. degrees.
The available courses include:
• B.Sc. Science and Technology Education: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science Education and Educational Technology.
• B.Sc. Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education: Health Education and Physical & Health Education.
• B.Sc. Educational Management: Business Education and Educational Management.
• B.Sc. Language Arts and Social Science Education: Economics, Political Science and Geography.
• B.A. Language Arts and Social Science Education: Arabic, Christian Religious Studies, English, French, Islamic Religious Studies, History, Yoruba and Social Studies Education.
• B.Ed. Educational Foundation: Early Childhood and Primary Education, Guidance and Counselling Education and Special Education.

Admission Requirements
Applicants are required to possess any of the following qualifications:
• Five O’Level credit passes relevant to the chosen course of study at not more than two sittings, alongside two A’Level passes in relevant subjects or an NCE with Merit in relevant areas.
• A University or Polytechnic two-year Diploma Certificate in a relevant field obtained at not less than Merit level.
A credit pass in English Language and Mathematics is compulsory for all programmes.
Specific subject requirements apply to some courses. Candidates applying for English Education must possess credit passes in Literature-in-English, English Language and other relevant subjects. Economics Education applicants must have credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and other relevant Arts or Social Science subjects.
Applicants for Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education must have credit passes in English Language, Biology or Agricultural Science and other relevant subjects, while Political Science applicants require credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government or History and other relevant subjects.
For Health Education, candidates must possess credit passes in English Language, Biology or Agricultural Science and other relevant subjects. Holders of Staff Registered Nurse and Midwifery Certificates or Environmental Health Diplomas from recognised institutions, alongside the required O’Level credits, are also eligible.
Candidates applying for Mathematics and Science Education must possess credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Physics and another science subject.
Other accepted qualifications include ICAN (Part II) and CTS (Part II) for Economics, recognised Arabic institution certificates, NCE Arabic with Merit, and relevant diplomas in Health Education, Environmental Health, Physical Education, Social Work, Health Administration, Coaching and Sports from recognised institutions.
Programme Duration
The four-year Sandwich Degree Programme is designed for candidates with NCE or National Diploma (ND) qualifications at Merit or Lower Credit grade and above.
The five-year Sandwich Degree Programme is designed for candidates with WASSCE, SSCE, NABTEB or NCE qualifications who do not meet the requirements for the four-year programme.
Method of Application
Interested applicants can obtain application forms through the Lagos State University website after payment of a non-refundable application fee of ₦10,000.
Applicants are required to submit printed copies of their completed online application forms alongside the appropriate O’Level scratch cards to the Directorate of Sandwich Degree Programme at either the Ojo or Epe Campus.
The university warned applicants against making payments to individuals or unauthorised accounts, stating that anyone who does so does so at their own risk.
Closing Date and Entrance Examination
The deadline for submission of applications is ten weeks from the date of publication.
The entrance examination and interview will hold on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the 3-in-1 Lecture Theatre (Halls 1 and 2), beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Candidates are advised to come with writing materials and the original and photocopies of their academic credentials.
