Lagos State University Begins 2026 2027 Indigeneship Verification Exercise for Admission Candidates
Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of its Indigeneship Verification Exercise for candidates of Lagos State origin seeking admission into the institution for the 2026 2027 academic session.

According to the university, the exercise is open to candidates who selected LASU as their first choice in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and scored a minimum of 195.
The registration portal for online payment and application opened on Monday, April 27, 2026, and will close on Friday, May 22, 2026.
LASU explained that the verification exercise is strictly for candidates of Lagos State origin and does not serve as proof or guarantee of admission into the university.
The institution stated that all eligible candidates must be cleared by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee before they can be considered for admission.
The screening exercise will be conducted in four phases between April 27 and May 22, 2026, across designated centres linked to the various divisions of Lagos State.

Candidates from Ikeja and Badagry divisions are to appear at the New TETFund Building, Faculty of Arts, while Ikorodu division candidates will be screened at the Law Clinic, Faculty of Law. Lagos division candidates are expected at the International Business Class, MBA Building, while Epe division candidates will be screened at the School of Transport and Logistics.
The university also stated that applicants from previous admission sessions who were not offered admission can revalidate their existing indigeneship clearance certificates online with payment.
In addition, all Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin are required to participate in the exercise before they can be considered for admission.
LASU warned candidates against making payments through unauthorized channels, stressing that all payments must be made only through the official university portal.
