Lagos State University Vice-Chancellor Congratulates New LASUSU Leadership

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the recently concluded 36th LASUSU elections.

Comrade Ayodele Korede Peter, popularly known as APK, has emerged as the 36th LASUSU President-Elect, while Hon. Ogunbiyi Akorede Joshua has been elected Speaker of the Students’ Parliamentary Council.

Professor Olatunji-Bello commended the entire electoral process, describing it as peaceful, transparent, and credible. She noted that the outcome reflects the true will of the students and pledged to collaborate closely with the new student leadership in advancing the interests and welfare of LASU's students.

The Vice-Chancellor also acknowledged the courage and sportsmanship of all aspirants who participated in the election, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence. She lauded the Independent Electoral Committee for their professionalism and diligence in ensuring the integrity of the elections.

Special appreciation was extended to key individuals and units that contributed to the success of the elections.

Professor Olatunji-Bello reaffirmed LASU's position as a trailblazer in student-centred governance, highlighting the successful conduct of the election as a testament to the university's commitment to transparency, credibility, and trust in Nigeria's democratic process.
