The announcement was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, who informed graduands, parents, stakeholders, and the general public of the programme of events lined up for the ceremony.
The convocation activities will commence with pre-convocation events on Wednesday, August 12, including a press conference at the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Main Campus, Ojo, as well as a staff sports competition at the LASU Sports Centre.
The main convocation programme will feature a series of academic, cultural, and ceremonial events spread across multiple days.
On Thursday, August 13, a staff celebration day will hold at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, featuring cultural displays representing various Nigerian tribes.
Friday, August 14 will feature the Coconut Breaking and Cultural Day at the Badagry Gate Entrance, alongside a Jumat service at the university mosque.
Academic awards for diplomas, first degrees, postgraduate diplomas, and master’s degrees in Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, and distinguished professorships will hold on Monday, August 17 at the Olatunji Bello Auditorium, Epe Campus.
The convocation lecture is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18 at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, followed by the award of additional diplomas, first degrees, and master’s degrees later that same day.
On Wednesday, August 19, the university will confer doctoral degrees, including PhD awards and honorary doctorate degrees, at the Buba Marwa Auditorium.
The programme will conclude on Sunday, August 23 with a special thanksgiving service at the University Chapel of Light, Main Campus, Ojo.

The university outlined strict guidelines for graduands, including payment procedures for convocation packages via its official portal at https://www.lasu.edu.ng, as well as penalties for late return or damage of academic gowns.
Graduands are required to return academic gowns by Friday, August 21, 2026, with fines imposed for late returns or damages, depending on the level of study.
The institution also detailed ceremonial protocols, including tassel positioning, dress code compliance, seating arrangements, and procession rules to ensure orderliness throughout the events.
Parents and invited guests are expected to be seated by 8:30 a.m. on scheduled days, while graduands are required to join the procession promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Lagos State University congratulated all graduating students and stakeholders, describing the combined convocation as a milestone celebration of academic achievement and institutional excellence.
