LAUTECH Alumni Power CEST With 50 kVA Solar System Donation
The Centre for Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST) at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, is now fully powered by a 50 kVA solar energy system, donated by Mar&Mor Engineering Services Limited, an indigenous company founded and led by the University alumni.
The donation, made in October 2025, demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting the growth and sustainability of both CEST and the University. The initiative stems from a pledge made during a courtesy visit by CEST’s director, when the company’s CEO, Engr. Adegboyega Amoo, a Mechanical Engineering alumnus, promised to provide a solar power solution as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts.

The Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Kazeem Lasisi, also a LAUTECH Mechanical Engineering graduate, coordinated the installation of the system to ensure timely delivery, with full support from the CEO’s wife, Mrs. Morufat Amao, a Computer Science and Engineering alumna. The facility comprises 80 units of 605 W bifacial solar panels, one 50 kVA smart hybrid inverter, and six 5 kVA lithium-ion batteries.
On 9 December 2025, Engr. Lasisi paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Razak Olatunde Rom-Kalilu, and CEST leadership. The Vice-Chancellor expressed profound gratitude for the donation, praying for the continued success of Mar&Mor Engineering Services Limited. The company was presented with an award and official university souvenirs in recognition of the contribution. Engr. Lasisi also toured the facility and engaged with undergraduate students.
The solar power installation marks a major milestone in strengthening CEST’s capacity-building programmes and highlights the enduring impact of LAUTECH alumni in advancing the University’s mission.
