LAUTECH Alumnus Wins Multiple Awards, Bags NSE Fellowship at Engineering Conference

A graduate of Civil Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Engineer Oladele Fadipe, has been named the 2025 Engineer of the Year and overall winner of the Innovation Challenge at the International Engineering Conference, Exhibition and Annual General Meeting held in Ibadan.

A graduate of Civil Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Engineer Oladele Fadipe, has been named the 2025 Engineer of the Year and overall winner of the Innovation Challenge at the International Engineering Conference, Exhibition and Annual General Meeting held in Ibadan.

At the event, Engr. Fadipe also earned induction into the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) as one of over 400 newly admitted Fellows, in recognition of his professional excellence and contributions to engineering practice.

He distinguished himself throughout the highly competitive innovation challenge, emerging top across all three stages of the contest. His award-winning innovation, the ELFAD Aerobic Sewage Treatment Plant (AASTP), popularly known as the hybrid biodigester, was adjudged the best innovation for 2025.

The solution, which is entirely indigenous and designed to operate at zero running cost, was praised for its potential to permanently transform sewage management by addressing the persistent shortcomings of conventional septic tank systems.

Engr. Fadipe is the Managing Director of ELFAD Concept Limited, a biogas technology company with operations in Lagos and Abuja.
