MAU Mourns Former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ahmed Tijjani Suleiman
Modibbo Adama University, Yola, mourns the passing of its former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ahmed Tijjani Suleiman, Emeritus Professor of Energy Engineering, who died on Monday evening after a brief illness.
Prof. Suleiman served as Vice-Chancellor of the University, then known as the Federal University of Technology, Yola, from 1988 to 1995.
An accomplished academic and administrator, he was trained at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he also taught for several years. He later served at the University of Sokoto, where he rose to the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

He subsequently became Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and later served briefly as Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja.
He also served his home state, Jigawa, as Commissioner and was a two-time President of the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria.
The University acknowledges his contributions to the growth and development of the institution and his distinguished service to higher education and the nation.
Prof. Suleiman will be buried today in his hometown, Ringim, Jigawa State, according to Islamic rites.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, on behalf of the University Management, Governing Council, Senate, staff and students, extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and associates of the late former Vice-Chancellor.
May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
