Modibbo Adama University Inaugurates University Advancement Team

Modibbo Adama University, Yola, has inaugurated its University Advancement Team to strengthen partnerships, attract investments and foster strategic relationships for the development of the institution.

The inauguration was held at the Council Chamber of the University and was performed on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Iliyasu Audu.

The team has Alhaji Abubakar Jijiwa, Waziri Fufore, as Chairman and Most Rev. Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza as Co-Chairman, with members drawn from diverse backgrounds within and outside the University.

The University Advancement Team is saddled with supporting the University's advancement efforts, particularly in strengthening partnerships, attracting resources and building strategic relationships that will contribute to its growth.

Charging the members, Prof. Audu urged them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, commitment and a strong sense of purpose, stressing the importance of the team to the institution's continued growth. He called on them to bring their wealth of experience, networks and expertise to support the University Advancement Centre and ensure effective implementation of its mandate.

The University Advancement Centre was established to coordinate advancement activities and serves as a platform for mobilising strategic partnerships, investments, philanthropic support and other opportunities capable of enhancing the University's development.

Highlighting achievements of the Centre, its Director, Prof. Murtala Aliyu, said it has attracted several projects and interventions, including a 25-hectare pasture farm which served as a catalyst for the University's diversification efforts, a state-of-the-art Weather Centre and an international-standard Artificial Insemination Centre, among others. He added that some proposals made by the Centre are awaiting approval.

The newly inaugurated members were subsequently assigned responsibilities and charged to commence work towards achieving the objectives of the team.
