MOUAU Vice-Chancellor Dismisses N578 Million IGR Non-Remittance Claims as False
The Vice-Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, has vehemently refuted recent reports in online newspapers alleging that the university failed to remit N578 million in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to the Federal Government during 2021 and 2022.
In an official response to the claims circulated by an unnamed newspaper, Professor Iwe denied the allegations of financial impropriety and mismanagement.
Non-Remittance of IGR: The claim that N578 million was withheld from the Federal Government has been dismissed as unfounded.
Illegal N5 Billion Payment: Professor Iwe also strongly denied allegations in the same report that the university made an illegal payment of N5 billion under his administration.
The Vice-Chancellor assured stakeholders that the university operates with transparency and adherence to financial regulations, encouraging the public to disregard the spurious reports. The university is committed to providing accurate and detailed information regarding its financial operations.
More details and clarifications are expected to follow in subsequent official communications from the university administration.
