NAAT North-East Zonal Coordinator Inaugurates Pioneer Executive Committee of Kashim Ibrahim University Chapter

The North-East Zonal Coordinator of the National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT, Comrade Mohammad Bashir Ibrahim, has officially inaugurated the executive committee of the Kashim Ibrahim University, KIU, Chapter.  

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Comrade Bashir said the visit was to formally inaugurate the newly elected executive members of the association in the university.  

He described NAAT as one of the most peaceful and progressive unions within the Nigerian university system, committed to promoting the welfare and professional development of academic technologists.  

On behalf of the NAAT National Executive Council, Comrade Bashir appealed to the university management to give due consideration to the payment of hazard allowances and other entitlements of NAAT members at KIU. He emphasized the critical role academic technologists play in supporting teaching, research, and innovation.  

He further commended the university management for facilitating the establishment and recognition of the NAAT chapter.  

“We sincerely appreciate the efforts of the university management in ensuring the successful establishment of NAAT in Kashim Ibrahim University. We congratulate the university community on this achievement and assure the management of our commitment to working collaboratively with the institution for its continued growth and development,” he said.  

Responding on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babagana Gutti, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Shuibu Garba Ngulde, welcomed the NAAT delegation and expressed the management’s readiness to maintain a cordial working relationship with the association.  

Prof. Ngulde assured the association of management’s commitment to addressing issues affecting its members, including allowances and welfare packages.  

“On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and the entire university management, I warmly welcome you to Kashim Ibrahim University. We value the contributions of academic technologists and look forward to a productive partnership with NAAT. We will continue to engage relevant authorities to ensure that issues relating to staff welfare and allowances receive the necessary attention,” he stated.  

In his acceptance remarks, the newly inaugurated Chairman, Comrade Barka Jackson Ndahi, expressed profound gratitude to the university management for its support toward the establishment of the association.  

He also appreciated sister unions within the university, the NAAT delegation from the University of Maiduguri, the North-East Zonal Coordinator and his team, and all invited guests.  

The Chairman pledged that the new executive committee would work diligently to promote the objectives of the association, protect the welfare of its members, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Kashim Ibrahim University.
