The Management of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT, Minna), on Monday, November 2, 2026, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jonathan Osman Ndagi, at his Uphill residence in Minna.
The delegation, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Uno Essang Uno, included members of the University Management and elders of the University. The visit was on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, former Principal Officers, Senate, staff and students of the University.
Presenting a letter of condolence to the family, Prof. Uno prayed God to grant the family strength to bear the loss and preserve the cherished memories of a life devoted to service.

He also assured the family of the University's readiness to work with them to give the late Pioneer Vice-Chancellor a befitting burial. He disclosed that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, had constituted a committee to liaise with the family on the funeral arrangements.
The delegation was received by the deceased's daughter, Mrs. Asabe Ahmed, who expressed appreciation to the University for the visit and support at the family's difficult moment.
Earlier, following the news of Prof. Ndagi's passing, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, had visited the family on Saturday, October 31, 2026, to convey the University's condolences.
Recalling the privilege of leading the University Management on a visit to celebrate the late Professor's 95th birthday last year, Prof. Kuta expressed sadness that plans to visit him again for his 96th birthday on November 1, 2026, could not materialise. He described his death as a great loss to his immediate family, FUT, Minna and the entire University community.
The Vice-Chancellor also reaffirmed the University's commitment to working with the family to ensure a befitting burial for the departed pioneer.
Prof. Ndagi was appointed the Foundation Vice-Chancellor of FUT, Minna in 1982 and served for eight years. During his tenure, he laid the solid foundation for the University's growth and development, transforming it from its early beginnings into the high-ranking institution it is today, with two campuses.
