NANS President Visits ATBU, Discusses Student Welfare
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President, Comrade Olushola L. Oladoja, has paid a strategic visit to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, as part of the association's nationwide engagement to strengthen student advocacy and foster institutional collaboration.
During the visit, the NANS President met with the Vice Chancellor, Professor I.H. Garba, and discussed pressing issues affecting Nigerian students, including:
- Timely disbursement of NELFUND refunds
- Regular fumigation of hostels and reading areas
- Improved sanitation and maintenance of toilet facilities
The Vice Chancellor appreciated NANS' advocacy role and assured students that NELFUND refunds would commence immediate disbursement. He also reiterated ATBU's commitment to enhancing student welfare through infrastructural improvements, including upgrading hostel common rooms.
The visit highlights the collaborative spirit between student leadership and ATBU management, with a shared vision of advancing academic excellence, student welfare, and institutional growth. The Vice Chancellor welcomed NANS' call for the inclusion of ATBU in national initiatives, such as the deployment of CNG-powered vehicles, to reduce transportation costs for students.
