Nasarawa Professors’ Forum Honours NSUK Vice-Chancellor for Leadership and Institutional Growth

The Nasarawa State University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has been honoured by the Nasarawa State Professors’ Forum in recognition of what the group described as her transformational leadership and contributions to institutional development.

The Nasarawa State University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has been honoured by the Nasarawa State Professors’ Forum in recognition of what the group described as her transformational leadership and contributions to institutional development.

The recognition was presented during a ceremony held at the University Council Chamber, where professors of Nasarawa State origin from various tertiary institutions gathered to celebrate Professor Liman’s leadership and academic achievements.

The event also highlighted her position as the first female indigenous Vice-Chancellor of the university.

Professor Liman, a Fellow of UNESCO and several professional bodies, received the honorary award in acknowledgement of her role in advancing academic excellence, institutional growth, and administrative reforms within the university.

Speaking after receiving the award, the Vice-Chancellor described the recognition as both humbling and motivating, while commending the Professors’ Forum for promoting mentorship, collaboration, and institutional excellence.

According to her, the Forum has played a major role in nurturing academic growth and strengthening professional development within the university community.

She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the objectives of the Forum and expressed optimism about continued progress, unity, and impact within the institution.

Earlier, the National Convener of the Nasarawa State Professors’ Forum, Professor Abdullahi Danasabe Jibrin, stated that the decision to honour Professor Liman was based on the developmental achievements recorded under her administration.

He noted that her leadership style, commitment to excellence, and institutional initiatives have significantly improved the university environment and strengthened the institution’s academic standing.

Professor Jibrin added that the Forum remains committed to encouraging academic collaboration, promoting excellence in higher education, and contributing to national development through scholarship and leadership.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the NSUK Chapter Convener, Professor Abdullahi Adamu Sulaiman, appreciated members of the delegation and university management for supporting the event and sustaining the university’s development agenda.

The ceremony featured the formal presentation of the honorary award, exchange of gifts, and group photographs to commemorate the occasion.
