NCAT Graduates 21 Participants of Training Instructors Course

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has graduated 21 participants of the Training Instructors Course (TIC-73) at the FAAN Training School (Annex), Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The intensive five-day course had 21 local and foreign participants in attendance, including Mr. Wabwire Joseph Samuel of Uganda Air Cargo Corporation and Mr. Hermes Gen Deng of South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority, among others.

The ICAO-packaged course is open to pre-service and in-service instructors with little or no formal instructor training background. It also includes aviation training instructors and professionals dedicated to the delivery of competency-based training programs. The course further accommodates subject matter experts, specialists and current instructors wishing to upgrade or refresh their instructional competencies.

The Rector/Chief Executive, Dr. Danjuma Adamu Ismaila, represented by the Dean, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering School, Engr. Daniel Lawrence, enumerated the gains of the program. He assured participants that the knowledge and skills acquired would enhance their capacity to manage trainees effectively by applying the strategies taught during the course.

This includes the capacity for instructors to conduct training using a variety of instructional methods and perform trainee assessments appropriately, objectively and accurately. The course further equips participants with the expertise to conduct course evaluations effectively and properly complete training reports to support continuous course improvement.

The course was coordinated and delivered by Mr. Dauda B. Yahaya, Chief Instructor, former Deputy Rector and current Head of the NCAT Public Private Partnership Unit.
