NDA Releases Guidelines for Document Screening of Prospective Candidates

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has issued a set of crucial guidelines for prospective candidates undergoing document screening as part of the admission process. The institution emphasized the need for strict compliance to avoid disqualification.

According to the NDA, candidates must ensure that their names are arranged consistently across all submitted documents. The prescribed format requires the surname to be the father’s name, the first name to be the candidate’s own name, while other names may include those of grandparents or additional names the candidate bears.

A key eligibility criterion outlined is the age requirement, which mandates that candidates must be between 17 and 21 years old at the time of application. Additionally, precision in date formats is essential, as discrepancies in date representation can lead to automatic disqualification. For instance, “06-07-2006” (6th July 2006) and “07-06-2006” (7th June 2006) hold different meanings, and misinterpretation could impact an applicant’s eligibility.

In terms of academic qualifications, candidates must possess a minimum of five O'level credits, including Mathematics and English, alongside relevant subjects required for their chosen course of study. The institution advises candidates to thoroughly understand their grades, age, and reasons for selecting their preferred course.

Furthermore, the NDA has warned against the use of affidavits for document verification, stressing that original and verifiable records are mandatory.
