NLA Ogun State to Host Maiden Dr. T. M. Salisu Legacy Lecture Series

The Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Ogun State Chapter, will on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, host the maiden edition of the Dr. T. M. Salisu Legacy Lecture Series at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, by 11:00 a.m.

The Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Ogun State Chapter, will on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, host the maiden edition of the Dr. T. M. Salisu Legacy Lecture Series at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, by 11:00 a.m.

The event is being organised in honour of Dr. Taofiq Salisu, pioneer University Librarian of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in recognition of his contributions to academic librarianship and the development of the Nimbe Adedipe Library.

According to a statement issued by the University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi, the lecture series is designed to celebrate Dr. Salisu’s professional legacy while advancing discourse on the evolving role of libraries in higher education and national development.

The lecture is themed “Libraries in a Changing World: Repositioning for National Development,” and will feature Prof. Zakari Muhammad of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as Guest Lecturer. He is expected to examine the transformation of libraries in response to technological advancement and their strategic role in supporting knowledge-driven national growth.

The initiative is expected to bring together library professionals, academics, and stakeholders in the information management sector to reflect on emerging trends and reposition library services for greater impact in a rapidly changing information environment.
