IBBUL Regulates Commercial Motorcycle Movement to Enhance Campus Safety

The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL), has announced a new regulation governing the operations of commercial motorcycles, popularly known as Okada, within the university campus.

The directive, aimed at enhancing security, maintaining order, and fostering a conducive academic environment, is set to take effect from Monday, 30th March 2026.

Under the new guidelines, commercial motorcycles will only be permitted to operate within the campus between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm daily.

The Management emphasized that all operators must stop at the university gate once the 7:00 pm cutoff is reached. Beyond this time, motorcycles will no longer be allowed access to the campus interior.

Students are strongly advised to plan their commutes accordingly and utilize alternative means of movement. The university specifically encouraged students to access hostels and academic blocks on foot or through other approved transportation methods after the restricted hours.

The University Management warned that strict adherence to this regulation is mandatory for both students and motorcyclists. Failure to comply with the new directive will result in appropriate disciplinary measures.
