Ogundipe's Appointment As Futes-Iyin Pioneer Dvc, Pride To Eksu Engineering Faculty - Dean

The Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Ekiti State University, EKSU, Professor Ilesanmi Oluwafemi, has described the appointment of Professor Olumide Ogundipe as the pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Research, and Partnerships, of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, FUTES-IYIN, as a source of pride to the faculty and a reflection of his impressive professional growth.

He stated this on Thursday when he led members of the faculty on a courtesy visit to Professor Ogundipe at FUTES-IYIN.

Professor Ogundipe, who was the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, EKSU, before joining FUTES-IYIN, was described by Professor Ilesanmi as a worthy product of the faculty whose career trajectory has continued to bring pride to his former colleagues and institution.

The Dean noted that Professor Ogundipe had distinguished himself through his contributions to the development of the faculty and expressed delight at seeing him take on a strategic leadership responsibility as the pioneer DVC of the newly established university.

Professor Ilesanmi also acknowledged the role of the Vice-Chancellor of FUTES-IYIN, Professor Gbenga Aribisala, who is himself a product of the Faculty of Engineering, EKSU, in providing mentorship and guidance to members of the faculty.

He expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for his continued influence and mentorship, noting that his support and leadership had helped many members of the faculty navigate their professional and leadership journeys and achieve significant milestones.

The visit, according to the EKSU delegation, was an opportunity to formally extend their heartfelt congratulations to the new DVC, while also strengthening the longstanding relationship between the Engineering Faculty and its distinguished product now contributing to the growth of other institutions.

Responding, Professor Ogundipe expressed appreciation to the leadership of the faculty for the visit and their warm wishes, describing the gesture as a reflection of the strong bond that continues to exist between him and his academic root.

Ogundipe also expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aribisala, for the quality of leadership he provides at FUTES-IYIN, noting that his vision, commitment and exemplary leadership continue to inspire members of the university community and give confidence to those working alongside him.

While describing the EKSU visit as a demonstration of the enduring bond between the Faculty of Engineering, EKSU, and its products who continue to make meaningful contributions to the advancement of the university system in the country, he expressed optimism that the relationship would continue to create opportunities for knowledge exchange, mentorship and professional collaboration.
