North-Eastern University Hosts Renowned Chemistry Textbook Author Dr. Godwin Ojokuku

North-Eastern University, Gombe, has hosted Dr. Godwin Ojokuku, a celebrated author of widely used secondary school chemistry textbooks, following the successful NEU Chemistry Day 2025.

The visit marks the beginning of a collaborative initiative aimed at training and upskilling chemistry teachers across Gombe State and the North-East region.

The university's Pro-Chancellor and Founder, Dr. Sani Jauro, emphasized the importance of training teachers who can inspire and teach chemistry effectively. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sani Isyaka, welcomed Dr. Ojokuku and highlighted the university's role in promoting science education development in the region. The Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) also expressed strong support for the initiative, emphasizing the need for long-term partnerships to improve teacher competency and chemistry instruction in secondary schools.

Dr. Ojokuku commended the university's vision and pledged his support for the teacher training initiative, affirming his readiness to contribute his expertise to capacity-building programmes in the region. The visit underscores the university's commitment to promoting science education development and improving the quality of chemistry instruction in the North-East region.
