Northwest University Kano Begins Probe After Lecturer Dr. Nasa’i Muhammad Gwadabe Accused of Sexual Harassment of Female Student
Northwest University Kano (NWUK) has launched an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving one of its lecturers, Dr. Nasa’i Muhammad Gwadabe, after a video circulated on social media.
Northwest University Kano (NWUK) has established an investigative committee to examine allegations of sexual misconduct against one of its lecturers following a viral social media video. The university says it will ensure a fair and transparent investigation.

In a statement issued on Friday, the university said the lecturer, Dr. Nasa’i Muhammad Gwadabe, was accused of attempting to sexually harass a female student of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN). The alleged incident reportedly occurred at the old campus of Bayero University, Kano.
Reacting to the development, the university said it viewed the allegation with serious concern and had commenced an internal investigation to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
According to the institution, the committee has been mandated to thoroughly investigate the matter and submit its findings to the university management for appropriate action.

NWUK stressed that it does not condone sexual harassment, abuse or any form of misconduct by members of its staff or students, irrespective of where such incidents are alleged to have occurred.
The university added that any disciplinary action would be based on the outcome of the investigation and in accordance with its rules and regulations.
While urging the public to avoid speculation, the management assured that the investigation would be conducted fairly and transparently, reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, integrity and due process.
