A delegation from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) on Friday, October 31, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

The team, led by Dr. Sachin Rewaria of the WHO National Surveillance Office, stated that the visit was aimed at seeking the cooperation of UCH management in granting access to certain hospital departments for the review of surveillance and immunization documents, as well as for engagement with relevant officers and focal persons.
Dr. Rewaria requested that key areas such as the General Outpatient Department (GOPD), Occupational Therapy and Community Health Extension Workers (OTCHEW) unit, Accident and Emergency Department, and the Physiotherapy Department be made available for use during the assessment exercise.
Responding on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, the Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (DCMAC) on Education and Training, Professor Olushola Ibiyemi, expressed the hospital management’s full support for the team’s mission.

He assured the delegation of UCH’s cooperation to ensure a smooth and successful assessment, while welcoming feedback and recommendations that could further enhance the hospital’s surveillance and immunization systems.
